Our Director on the Jeremy Vine Show!

On Wednesday 23rd September, our Director Isabelle was a guest on the Jeremy Vine show. This follows on from when she met him back in July, where they cycled around and spoke about all things cycling (you can read more about that here).

The episode’s topic (“Jeremy discusses pubs, premium bonds, natural spaces and cycling with a disability”) gave Isabelle the perfect opportunity to talk about the need for more accessible active travel provisions, especially now at a time when people are looking to rebuild their health and fitness levels to how they were before lockdown. Plus, it was great to learn that one of our participants had emailed the Jeremy Vine show beforehand, talking about how she loved cycling with us at Croydon Sports Arena!

What’s truly amazing is that Wheels for Wellbeing received over 20 emails after the show’s episode! They came both from people who already love inclusive cycling, and also those who felt inspired by Jeremy and Isabelle’s talk to take it up as a hobby or means of independent transportation. This goes to prove just how many people – regardless of age or Disability factors – could be cycling if opportunities were more widespread and known about.

You can listen to the show here (Isabelle comes in at 1.30) – enjoy!
