Daniel

Wheels for Wellbeing is offering a cycle hire scheme for participants until the sessions restart. If you would like to find out more, please contact info@wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk

Daniel and his support worker Dayo usually attend Wheels for Wellbeing’s Monday sessions at Herne Hill Velodrome. Back in February, they asked to rent some bicycles so that they could cycle outside of the sessions. Our Session Manager Emma told them about Evans Cycles ‘Cyclopark Road Sportive’ on Sunday 8th March, which they took part in and thoroughly enjoyed! Cycling on main roads and through country lanes, Daniel was able to see lots of different animals, including horses, cows and sheep. Here is what Dayo said about the event: “I was encouraged to take part with my client as [he] enjoys cycling so much. I enjoyed every moment of the ride. Despite the pain in my legs, I can confirm I will be taking part in more events.”

Daniel and Dayo originally hired the bicycles for 3 consecutive Mondays in March, but due to the sessions being postponed until further notice they have hired them for longer. Daniel and Dayo have cycled together almost every day for the past few weeks, visiting places such as Southbank (see photo below), which has helped both of them stay physically active!
