Wheels for Wellbeing has made the tough decision to suspend its inclusive cycling service until further notice. This is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among our participants, volunteers and staff members. Despite this, we still want to help Disabled people access physical exercise opportunities for them to enjoy in the home or garden! Here are some of the best websites and videos we have found so far!
Please note: none of these videos have been produced by Wheels for Wellbeing. We are simply pointing to accessible exercise opportunities which other people have made available online. We do not endorse them, nor can we guarantee they are right for you. Having said that, we hope you’ll find something you fancy giving a try to. If you have up to 10 minutes…
- Chair Yoga Dance with Sherry Zak Morris: Enjoy a class of inclusive yoga (to the song “Stop in the Name of Love”) from your wheelchair or chair.
- 10 Simple Exercises: Some fun and beneficial exercises that you do can do from your wheelchair or chair
- Have a chair and ball with you? Try these:
- Hip and Thigh Strengthener: If you have a chair and a resistance band, this is the exercise for you!
- Chair Yoga for MS: Aimed at people with MS, but can be enjoyed by all!
- Exercises for Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Users: From The Needle to Toe Touches, Jonple have shared some super exercises for you to benefit from.
If you have 10 – 20 minutes…
- Adaptive Yoga with WheelPower (Class 2): Enjoy a class of inclusive yoga from your wheelchair or chair.
- Adaptive Yoga for Kids: Inclusive yoga for Disabled children (Note: the way one child can demonstrate a pose may look completely different from another child).
- Bollywood dance with Tamanna: Predominantly aimed at older people but can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
If you have 20 – 30 minutes…
- P.E with Joe: Whilst schools are off, children can enjoy daily P.E. lessons! (Note: the series is not specifically aimed at Disabled children, and so some exercises may not be wholly inclusive).
- Bumble Bee Physio: Various fun and inclusive videos aimed at Disabled babies and children.
- Adaptive Yoga with WheelPower (Class 1): Enjoy a class of inclusive yoga from your wheelchair or chair.
- The following videos are predominantly aimed at older people, but can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
- Odette’s Baked Beans: A great home workout that uses tin cans as weights!
- Sit and Get Fit!: An energetic and fun workout from your wheelchair or chair.
- Seated & Standing Pilates Workout for MS: Aimed at people with MS, but can be enjoyed by all! (Note: this video uses a resistance band and a ball, but you can use something else!)
- Make Movement Your Mission: This series is aimed at older people, with videos being published 3 times a day (8am, 12pm, 4pm).
If you have 30 – 40 minutes…
- Seated Exercises (Wheelchair or Chair): Join Tanni Grey-Thompson as she does a home workout!
- The following videos are predominantly aimed at older people, but can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
- Seated Pilates Workout for MS: Aimed at people with MS, but can be enjoyed by all! (Note: this video uses a resistance band and a ball, but you can use something else!)
- Chair Ballet Class: Participate in a chair-based ballet class by English National Ballet!
If you have 40 – 50 minutes…
- Seated Upper Body Exercise Video: This video includes aerobic and resistance/strength training exercises for you to enjoy whilst seated.
- Dance Workout with Jenny: Predominantly aimed at older people but can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
If you have up to 1 hour…
- ‘Let’s Move with Nara’
- Every Thursday, Nara from Disability Advice Service Lambeth runs an online exercise session via Zoom. Comment ‘Yes’ on the Facebook post to sign-up, and Nara will contact you directly.
- Lively Chair Yoga Class: Enjoy a class of inclusive yoga from your wheelchair or chair.

- Wheely Good Fitness has a YouTube channel with various exercises every week, which can be enjoyed by people whilst seated or in a wheelchair.
- Cerebral Palsy Sport has created a range of health and wellbeing factsheets, from cupboard recipes to inclusive stretches and poses.
- Get Active has published a timetable of online physical activities that are live-streamed, which you can browse and sign up to by clicking here.
- As part of its #StayInWorkOut campaign, Sport England has a wide range of indoor workout resources for adults and children alike, including fully-inclusive exercises for Disabled people.
- We Are Undefeatable has published some ‘Ways to Move’ activity inspiration for people living with short and long-term health conditions.
- NHS ‘Live Well’ campaign has a bank of gym-free resources, from seated yoga to back exercises.
- NHS ‘One You’ campaign has published these 3 videos on its website: 10-Minute Cardio Workout, 10-Minute Strengthening Workout, and 10-Minute Cool Down Stretching.
